Time for Fall!

It's always exciting to start a new season! Summer was great and all, but fall is just so INSPIRING. I dunno, it's when I get all my ideas. Like the excitement from summer is dying down, while knowing winter is just around the corner, and the days are getting shorter and shorter, but you wanna cherish every bit of sunshine still... You go outside and sit on the grass while you still can.

SHINee for Maypole fall/winter. Just because. (kekeke)

And oh yeah, classroom time. If I've been MIA lately, it's because of school. Second year of university and I feel OLD. But it's 'kay, with age comes wisdom, right? Right...

Another thing about fall? So BUSY. And I don't just mean school. It seems like everybody always has somewhere to go, and get there fast. Grab a coffee before early morning class, get out of class as soon as it's over to go to the library (because you can't really sit anywhere else), try to get some readings done, oh and before you know it it's time to go home, pick up your brother from elementary school, have a quick supper, take a shower, (watch drama), crawl into bed, think a bit about tomorrow so you don't freak out the next day, and sweet dreams.

Ah, stresseuh. And when we've all had just about enough of it, Christmas vacations come just in time. Less than 100 days until Christmas (not sure about the exact number and I'm too lazy to count)...

[K-Pop Phrases/Lyrics] Sky - Super Junior KRY

그 순간만은 그대와 난 꼭 함께할 수 있죠
geu soon-gan-man-eun geu-dae-wa nan ggok ham-gge-hal su it-jyo

그 (geu) - that
순간 (soon-gan) - moment
-만 (man) - only, just
-은 (eun) - topic marker for '순간만'
그 순간만은 - that moment only / just for that moment

그대 (geu-dae) - you
-와 (wa) - with, and
난 (nan) - I, me (contracted form of '나는', where 는 is a topic marker for 나)
그대와 난 (geu-dae-wa nan) - you and I

꼭 (ggok) - surely, for sure, without fail

함께 (ham-gge) - together
할 수 있다 (hal su it-da) - verb 'to be able to do'
함께 할 수 있죠 (hal su it-jyo) - able to be together
-죠 (jyo) [지요] is an ending that means 'right?', 'isn't it?'. So the sentence isn't completely neutral. In casual speech, it's simply -지.

Suju's power vocals (Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung) sing this phrase at 1:51, 3:17 and 4:20 in the soundtrack of '아름다운 그대에게'.

Luke Chapter 19

I read and reread Luke chapter 19 many times. I was struggling to find a passage that actually spoke to me. But mostly, I was struggling with another one of Jesus' parables: The Parable of the Ten Minas. And kind of lazy to look more deeply into the scripture to find some clear answers.

We have a nobleman who leaves his servants to receive a kingdom. During his absence he makes arrangements for his business to be carried on by entrusting money to 10 of his servants. Though we only find out what happens to 3 of the servants. When the nobleman returns, he asks for an account from his servants. The servants that have made profit are rewarded, because they have made good use of it. The third servant, however, hid the mina and kept it in a handkerchief, because he was afraid of his master. He did not make any use of it at all.

When we are given opportunities, we should make use of them. Even if we are unsure of how to be fruitful or productive, it doesn't hurt to try. The servant could have put it in a bank and get back some interest, but that he didn't even do. If we make no use of our given opportunities, we shall lose them. It will be given to someone else who has a better use for it. On the contrary, if we do make good use of our given opportunities, we will get more.

"In the Christian life we do not stand still. We use our gifts and make progress or we lose what we have." Even the smallest gift can be put to good use!
